Digitalization Day - eTwinning Project Activity

Within the eTwinning project “Friends of Technology”, we celebrated Digitalization Day as a meaningful opportunity to promote international collaboration, creativity, and the safe and responsible use of digital technology in early childhood education. The activity brought together children and teachers from Romania, Greece, and Turkey, allowing them to learn, play, and communicate together in a safe digital environment.

The purpose of the activity was to help children discover fun and safe ways to use digital tools while developing social skills, teamwork, communication, and early digital citizenship awareness. Through playful learning experiences, children became little digital explorers, discovering how technology can help people connect beyond geographical borders.

 🤖 QR Code Hunting Adventure

One of the most exciting activities was the QR Code Hunting Adventure, where a friendly robot guided children through different learning challenges. Using digital maps and QR code messages, children traveled virtually from one station to another, completing interactive tasks such as: identifying digital objects in their classrooms and sharing photos on Padlet, dancing together with the robot in a joyful “Robot Dance” activity, collaboratively coloring a robot image using Canva to create shared digital artwork, participating in a playful online quiz about internet safety and responsible digital behavior, solving a collaborative digital puzzle to discover the project logo and complete the “Digital Friendship Treasure”.

 🎨 Collaborative Digital Creativity

Children also participated in collaborative digital art activities, working together to color symbolic project images that represented friendship and technology. These activities showed children how digital tools can support creativity and shared expression.

 🧩 Digital Puzzle Collaboration

Another engaging experience involved solving online puzzles representing the four seasons of the year. Children from Romania and Greece worked together by contributing alternately to complete the puzzles, strengthening patience, cooperation, and intercultural communication. The joy of seeing the images gradually come to life through their shared effort was visible in their excitement and reactions.

 💻 Learning Through Interactive Games

Children also participated in interactive educational games using digital platforms such as Educaplay and smart board activities. They solved memory games, friendship-themed games, and digital quizzes that focused on internet safety and positive online behavior.

 🌈 Friendship and International Cooperation

Throughout all activities, children communicated with their international friends, shared ideas, and worked together in real time. The atmosphere was warm, joyful, and motivating, helping children develop positive attitudes toward technology as a learning tool.

 ⭐ Educational Impact

Digitalization Day proved that technology, when used responsibly and creatively, can become a powerful educational resource. The activity supported the development of digital skills, social-emotional learning, problem-solving abilities, and intercultural awareness among young learners.

This event strengthened the partnership between participating schools and demonstrated the importance of early digital education in preparing children for the future. It was a wonderful day filled with learning, friendship, collaboration, and discovery.
